Not bad at all!

Pretty impressive use of action script. Considering your age, I'm pretty impressed. It was also nice to have authentic Simpsons songs in the background. I could just listen to those and enjoy this flash.

In terms of improvement, I would definately try to make your next game longer. I felt that this one was over before it began. In general, not bad at all. Keep it up!

thanks for the review :)

Pretty Good Game!

Style/Concept:stationery version of Asteriods with the overall purpose of the game. 7/10.

Graphics: Again, far from breathtaking, but they get the job done. 6/10.

Sound: I'm not a big fan of the loud screaming music, but my personal preferences will not refkect this review. Overall, the music suited the game style, and fit its purpose well. 8/10.

Violence: For destroying the Clocks and the SS, I can't simply put 0 for this one. However, far from brutalluty. 5/10.

Interactivity: Not too many controls in this ones. However, of the few controls that were implemented, they all worked quite intuitively. Also, the collision detection of the lasers was on the mark a good 99% of the time. 8/10.

Humour: Controlling Wade and shotting the crap out of spam entries. What's funnier? 7/10.

Overall: Not a spectacular game, however not one to be simply ignored. Definately and above average game that had its moments. One suggestion would be that the difficulty really should increase at a faster pace. It took way too long for things to get at all difficult. A nice game in general and worth a look. 7/10.

Casualty responds:

Now THAT'S a review! Really helpful comment, thanks! And for the difficulty, I couldn't find a good math way to increase it well, but I'm too lazy to search.. :p

Another simple game...

but, yet again, strangely addictive! Having to speed up the ball through slicing added a bit of a challenge to the game, changung it from just another version/variation of Pong.

Unfortunately, because of the slowing ball, I couldn't get higher than 16 which is a little disappointing. Perhaps you can have the ball slow down at a less quickened pace. I like the idea of it slowing down however it did so after only 3 ricochets, which is a little to soon.

Overall, not a bad game! Looking forward to the next! 6/10

I rate aspects from ----- to +++++.

Anything '+' I really thank you for and find useful. Anything '-' might be a complaint or me just being greedy. Remember that I try and always give some constructive criticism, just like I ask you to do. I'll try and find something to criticise in the very best review.

++: (Fairly specific.)

For the record: it will slow down after 1 hit if you don't move the bat. If you slice it each time, it will never slow down and will move possibly faster than you can handle.

Overall, not a bad game! Looking forward to the next!

?: Again - why? It's highlighted in red at the top right.

(note: I rank these 3 aspects in the following order from most to least important to me in a review.)
constructive criticism/suggestions: 6
exposition of experience: 5 (how many times did you play? Did you get time-outs or ring-outs?)
praise/encouragement: 8

clarity of expression: 9
elaboration & being specific: 8
coverage (how much): 4 (could have mentioned graphics, absence of sound, ease of control... just quickly mentioned your opinion)

It could be a fatter calf, but as it is, it's big and strong. The meat is tasty. Thank you for the gift.

Simple...

yet strangely entertaining. The difficulty level increased at a nice pace, and what little control was avilable was almost completely flawless. In terms of improvement (should you decide to remake this game, or something like this) would be to add more modes (Easy, Normal, Hard) and have more obstacles like falling objects, or other things on hard mode for a real challenge. Just some ideas.

Anyway, very well done! I look forward to otehr games you develop in the future. 7/10.

A really nice and encouraging review. I felt you could have given more criticism though. Maybe you would have liked sound?

I would have enjoyed hearing how many times you played, whether you enjoyed it throughout and what scores you got.

Also, you mention difficulty modes, but do you find it too easy as it is? Or hard? Or ok?

You never went much into detail.

But these are suggestions for FURTHER improvement, because what you have written was a nice review that was enjoyable to read and was somewhat useful.

Thanks.

Different!

Its nice that you incorporated 4 different ideas into one. I liked that since so many people are now submitting JUST a dress-up game or JUST a soundboard. Anyway, to make reviewing this easier, I'll review each segment individualy.

Cartman Mouth -- This part didn't really stand out much. It just kind of showed the many mouths of Cartman for no particular reason (except to print out or trace, I suppose). However, it does tie together nicely with the other parts. Not the cream of this flash;s crap, however not a bad addition either. 4/10

Dress Up Cartman -- Ahh, the classic dress-up game. This one had a great selection of items to use and was put together quite well. The addition of some background South Park music would have been a nice addition, but wasn't too necesary. Alone the dress-up game would have been enough to pass judgement, but as a collection its even more impressive. 7/10

Talking From Show -- Once again, another classic. The soundboard. Not too many sounds to choose from, but again with all the other things in the collection, the lack of voice overs is hardly a let-down. With a couple of exceptions, the sound quality was quite good and I liked the clips that you chose. Not a bad peice of work. 6/10

Body Parts Find -- Quite an original concept. A little bit easy though, because simply scrolling the mouse can reveal the pieces. Again, some background music would be nice, but its absence isn't a total loss. Not a bad idea, and fairly well put together. 5/10

Overall not a bad collection of Cartman-related ideas. In terms of improvements, I would only add some more audio clips into the soundboard and add background music to the areas mentioned above. Good luck!

carmelhadinosaur responds:

Thanks for the review!
I think the first thing should have had a sound for each mouth, so you could make out random words and it would own :P
Perhaps I should make a flash just for that... with a key to press for each sound... ;P

A nice game, in theory.

However, I found the game to be a little difficult. Immediately hitting one key after another was fairly difficult, especially for someone like me who doesn't know all the keys off my heart.

However, I did notice that the game was very intuitive. It knew excatly what button I was pressing and would accept it immediately, without any wait or lag. Pretty impressive!

Another thing though was that the overall presentation looked kind of bland. Perhaps it could be improved a bit when the full game is developed. Perhaps adding some good sound would aid in that area.

Anyway, this is a really nice concept game. Perhaps you could take my suggestions as well as those from the user before me and turn this into something really great. Good luck!

AcidDimensions responds:

I review your review:

General praise, feedback personal experience, specific praise, sprecific constructive criticism, a positive summary with encouragement.

Really nice. Covers all the bases well.

Feedback on your personal experience gets me thinking about how to improve that experience. Maybe if you'd gone further, said what level you got to, did you have to retry levels a lot? That'd be even more helpful.

Great review. Maybe more criticisms would be nice (give more things to improve) but it's good to occasionally get an upbeat review like yours.

And you manage to do that without seeming trite or refusing to criticise at all.

6/10

Thanks for the review.

Maybe try Skears DX if you feel like it. I'd be interested to hear what you think of that. Or the old abandoned version of Skears 2.

Thanks for the memories 16-bit Sonic!

As a die-hard Sonic fan, I really liked this flash. i thought it looked good and was presented well. One thing however. Some of the sounds were really short, making for a slightly confined listening experience.

Anyway, this flash shows that 2-D isn't always inferior to 3-D. Keep up the good work!

RegisCartoons responds:

Thanx for the great review. Yeah, sounds wewre really short, but, you know, 5 Mb limit... Good luck !

A useful tutorial...

The tutorial was easy to understand and follow. Allowing viewers to truely follow along through downloads was a good idea, and this was overall a pretty big help. Good job!

FlameConker7 responds:

I'm glad I could be of some help!

Certaintly not the best...

but not bad for a start. There are still a fair number of glitches in this and some of the clothes don;t even fit properly. Once these things are fixed, I'm sure this will become a lot better.

BlackKingX responds:

We're aiming for the front page of Newgrounds for at least a few weeks. ;)

Well done!

I thought that this scene maker was well thought out and produced! It would have been nicer if there has been more room to work with, but you have to use what you've got I suppose! Keep up the good work.

Hyper-Anthony responds:

Thank you! Even though this is several years old, I plan on remaking it with some new techniques I've learned. I'll keep the space problem in mind, too. :D
